- Sheilia J. Flick, 69, Kokomo, passed away after a long battle with cancer at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at North Woods Village. She was born August 10, 1940 to Rogua and Glendale (Seals) Flick in French Lick, Indiana.
Sheilia retired from Delco Electronics in 1993. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1958 with High Honors. She attended Indiana University-Kokomo in General Studies. As a Civil War history buff, she wrote several articles for selected History magazines. She was a long time Longaberger sales representative. As a hobbyist, she loved to Needlepoint and was an avid collector of Dolls and Stamps. Yet, her true passion was Genealogy where she successfully traced the family roots of her ancestral trees to the 15th century.
She is survived by a son, Tim McElfresh, and grandchildren, Cody Hooper and Mackenzie McElfresh. She is also survived by a sister Mona Rickey and her husband John, Tammy Chester and her partner John Federspill, and several loved nephews and nieces.
Sheilia was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Michael, and a sister, Cindy.
Sunset Memorial Gardens will provide the service for Sheilia with a public viewing on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Pastor Tim Foster will conduct the funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday after a short visitation period from 1 p.m until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the local Genealogical Society of their choice.
