Ms. Lila Ann McCuiston, age 72, of Murray, Kentucky died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.Ms. McCuiston was born on July 26, 1944 to the late Willie O. Smith and Lila Nell McClure Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rondah Hale.Lila began working at Murray State University in October of 1965 and continued until her retirement on June 1, 2007. Since her retirement, she continued to be employed in various part time and temporary positions across campus until her death. Lila was a member of the New Concord Church of Christ.Survivors include one grandchild, Brandi Pickard of Murray, Kentucky; three great grandchildren, Kaelynn Pickard, Wyatt Pickard, and Ruby King all of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Wilma Russell and husband Bruce of Northville, Michigan; special friend, Henry Armstrong of Murray, Kentucky; two nieces, Kari Jones of Paducah, Kentucky and April Morgan and husband Ward of Clinton, Kentucky; as well as several great nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Blake Jenkins, John Dale and Rev. Jim Stahler will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.Expressions of sympathy may go to the benefit of Lila Ann McCuiston's great grandchildren. Mrs. Rondah Sue Hale, 38, Christian Lane, Hazel, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at 9:50 a.m. at her home. Her death followed an extended illness.
She had been employed at Pizza Hut of Murray for more than 27 years and was a member of New Providence Church of Christ.
Born May 19, 1965, in Calloway County, she was the daughter of Lila Smith McCuiston and the late Mac McCuiston. One grandfather, Woodrow McCuiston, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Jackie Hale, to whom she was married April 30, 1982, in Calloway County; one daughter, Brandi Hale, and her mother, Ms. Lila McCuiston, both of Murray; grandparents, Willie and Nell Smith, New Concord, and Fannie Sumner, Calloway County.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at New Providence Church of Christ. Jerimiah Tatum and Alan Martin will officiate.
J.H. Churchill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, but no visitation is scheduled.
