She was born December 22, 1913 at Japton, Arkansas, the daughter of George Washington "Shade" and Lula Eubanks McChristian. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Mountain Grove Church of Christ. She was the widow of John Henry McConnell whom she married in 1926 and who preceded her in death on April 30, 1970. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, John B. McChristian, Lester McChristian, Calvin McChristian, Floyd McChristian and Millard McChristian. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Hazel Rogers McConnell of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Zola Rogers of Huntsville, Arkansas; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David and Michele Drain McConnell of Farmington, Arkansas; one great-grandson, David Craig McConnell of Farmington, Arkansas; one great-granddaughter, Miss Sarah Kay McConnell of Farmington, Arkansas and several nephews and nieces. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2001 at the Grose Cemetery with Allen Tackett officiating.
