        Beverly Ann Walker, 74, of Richmond, MO died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home.
       Bev was born on September 18, 1942 in Richmond to Murrel and Dorothy Helen (Haynes) Proffitt. She married Marvin Lee (Pee Wee) Walker of Richmond on July 15, 1961. He survives of the home.
      Additional survivors include; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney Wayne and Beth Walker of Lexington, MO; one daughter, Leann Jones of Overland Park, KS; one brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Nancy Proffitt of Camden; 8 grandchildren, Spencer and Ebone Crow, Justin and Meghan Walker, Logan Pulse and Karah Fisher, Lauren and Antwoine Brown, Deven Walker and Samantha Fowler, Lanie Jones, Camille Cook and Sirena Cook and 9 great-grandchildren.
       In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Ross.
       Bev worked at the License Bureau in Richmond for 8 years and then later at the License Bureau in Lexington for 7 years. She then continued her career as the Voter Registration Clerk for Ray County for 15 years. Beverly was a member of the Richmond First Baptist Church for over 65 years and taught Sunday school there for over 50 years. She taught sign language. Bev enjoyed family gatherings and was an avid card player.  She was a lifelong Ray County resident.
       The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the St. Jude’s Hospital for children or to the Donor’s choice.
     
       Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. Inurnment will be in the South Point Cemetery near Orrick, MO.     Rodney Wayne Walker, 55, of Lexington, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital. Rodney was born on May 15, 1966, in Kansas City, the son of Marvin Lee and Beverly Ann (Proffitt) Walker. He was united in marriage to Beth Ann Childress of Odessa, on August 22, 2015; she survives of the home. Additional survivors include: father, Marvin Lee "Pee Wee" Walker of Richmond; four sons, Spencer Crow (Brandy Mace) of Kearney, Justin Walker of Excelsior Springs, Logan Pulse (Karah Fisher) of Independence, and Deven (Samantha) Walker of Richmond; two daughters, Lauren Pulse (Antwoine Brown) of Claycomo and Camille Cook of Norborne; 13 grandchildren: Rayln Mace, Melody Crow, Kainyn Crow, Landon Clark, Bennett Walker Madelynn Carroll, Lola Brown, Judah Brown, Jaxx Brown, Adailyn Carter, Colson Walker, Talen Cook, and Lachlan Cook; sister, Leann Jones of Liberty; and niece, Lanie Jones. He was preceded in death by his mother. Rodney was reared and educated in Richmond and graduated from the Richmond High School in the class of 1984. He worked most of his life as a carpenter, but also worked for a short time for the Railroad as a subcontractor. In his younger years, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond and later in life became a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. He had a great love for Christ, which enabled him to have 25 years of sobriety. He also helped many other people reach their sobriety through his faith. He also drove the church van to pick up people to attend church who couldn't drive themselves. Rodney was a good family man who lived for spending time with his dad, kids, grandkids, and wife. He enjoyed going to the lake, fishing, coon hunting, mushroom hunting, and anything with the outdoors. He also loved helping people no matter the circumstances and always saw the good in people. Rod says leaky roofs aren't his problem anymore. Visitation with funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 12:00 P.M., with services to follow at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Southpoint Cemetery, near Orrick.
