- OBITUARY
Margie Robertson Epps, 89, of Macon, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Knowles Chapel Cemetery in Sparta, Georgia with the Reverend Mark Hudgins officiating.
Margie was born February 9, 1931 in Pampa, Texas, to the late John Lloyd and Nanny Sue Lee. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Marvin C. Epps of Macon, her daughters Cindy Jordan (David) of Eatonton, GA, Rebecca Jackson (Peter) of Macon, her grandsons Robert Jackson (Jackie),of Macon, Christopher Jackson of Macon, and her great grandson, Noah Epps Jackson, of Macon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, some even as far away as California.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Lewis (Buddy) of White Plains, Georgia and her sister Billie Sue Ewell (Tom) of Laguna Nigel, California.
Margie was proud of her affiliation with Ingleside Baptist Church and was a member of the Kate Davis Sunday School Class.
Although never an official member of the Armed Services, she did serve our country as an Air Force wife for 30 years and then a Marine wife for 39 years.
Margie was an educator with the Bibb County Public schools for 24 years, from 1968 to 1993. First as a special education teacher and then as a lower grades elementary school teacher at Burghard Elementary School in Macon.
Margie was an avid gardener and she really enjoyed her vegetable garden and her flower garden. She was especially fond of her roses.
Margie was also a talented artist and created numerous pastel pieces. She was a very avid reader. She always said she was keeping her mind sharp.
Her family and those who knew her will greatly miss her. She was a truly kind and giving person.
