      Obituary for Naomi Hogan

On September 18 the Lord called home Pedie (Naomi Wilson) Hogan after a short illness. She was born July 24, 1925, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Robert M. and Annie McMahon Wilson. She obtained her unusual nickname as a teenager from her friends and was Pedie to most people for the rest of her life. She married Ted W. Hogan on October 9, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas, and they spent most of their married life in Crane. In 2008 they moved to Odessa.
Pedie was known as Mrs. Hogan to thousands of students of Crane High School where she was secretary to the principal for 21 years. She had previously worked as a secretary in Vicksburg and San Angelo and as bookkeeper at First State Bank in Rankin and Crane. She was active in the First United Methodist Church and various organizations in Crane.
Pedie was first and foremost a wife and mother. She was preceded in death by two sons Bob and Bill, by her parents, her stepmother Della, her brother Cecil, and her sisters Robbie and Frances Lynn. She is survived by Ted, her husband of almost 64 years, and by her daughter Jan and husband Don Wilcoxon of Leawood, Kansas; son Ted and wife Jodi Hogan of Odessa; daughter-in-law Lispah of Houston; and brother Mike and his wife Lizz of Montgomery, Alabama. She is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Pedie was beloved and respected by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Odessa, with reception following. Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America - Southwest Texas Council, San Angelo; Parks Methodist Foundation in Odessa; or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
