- The Rev. Paul deSchweinitz Couch Sr., former pastor of East Hills Moravian Church, Bethlehem, and Calvary Moravian Church, Allentown, died Sunday in his home at 4050-A Huntingreen Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. He was the husband of Marian (McCuiston) Couch.
A 1952 graduate of Moravian Seminary School, he was ordained in Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem. He also served Redeemer Moravian Church, Philadelphia, and parishes in Indiana and Ohio. He retired in 1986.
Earlier, he was employed by the former Western Electric Co., Chicago, Ill., and Allentown, 1945-49.
He was a 1943 graduate of William and Mary College, Williamsburg, Va.
Born in New Brunswick, N.J., he was a son of the late Frederick F. and Helena (deSchweinitz) Couch.
He was past president of Moravian Council of Churches of the Lehigh Valley.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors: Wife; daughters, the Rev. Blair, wife of Warren Gericke of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Allison, wife of Thomas Soals of Portland, Ore., and Margaret, wife of Tod Serfass of Winston-Salem; sons, Frederick of Stormville, N.Y., and the Rev. Paul Jr. of Richmond, Va.; brothers, Robert of Battle Creek, Mich., and Charles D. of Wilmington, Del.; sister, Marjorie, wife of Cassard Kaesemeyer of Bethlehem, and four grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Home Moravian Church, Winston-Salem. Call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the family’s home. Arrangements, Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, Winston-Salem.
