      John Franklin McCuistion II, 54, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Erlanger Medical Center.

      A lifetime resident of Hixson, Tenn., John was born on October 22, 1957 in Rockwood, Tenn. to Spring City natives Miles G and Barbara Ann Barton McCuistion.

      John was preceded in death by his grandparents, John F. McCuistion, Anna Rhea Dedrick McCuistion Cox, William E. "Bill" Barton and Mary R. Harrison Barton Scheuerman; and nephew, Graham Mitchell.

      Survivors other than his parents are sisters, Becky Mitchell of Manchester, N.H., Beth (Ken) Kipp of Wellfleet, Mass. and Mary Ann (Darren) Kipp of Plainville, Mass.; brother, Miles G McCuistion Jr. of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

      A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour before the service at the funeral home. His remains will be cremated.
