Jimmy McCuistion, age 83, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, passed away, surrounded by family and friends, on August 22. He grew up on a farm near Asher, Oklahoma, and joined the United States Air Force and shortly after, married the love of his life, Mary Haas, on December 31, 1951. This began their 62-year love affair. Following his service as an AP, he returned to finish his degree in accounting at University of Oklahoma, where he also served as a Norman police officer. He retired from Macklanburg-Duncan in 1989 with over 30 years of service as an accountant. Jim and Mary built a loving and devoted family. He is survived by his faithful wife, Mary; his three children: son, David & Gail McCuistion; daughter, Sherry & Pat Fanning; and daughter, Kelli Proctor and Benny; grandchildren, Jared McCuistion, Josh and Tiffany McCuistion, Alicia & Clay Wilson, Andrea & Jeffrey Kurtz, Tiffany & Brian Lindley, Kelcie Proctor, and Kase Proctor; and seven great-grandchildren, Rook Bosma, Lilly-Kate and Aidan Lindley, Lani Dawn McCuistion, Jackson, Eli, and Mia Wilson; sisters, Gearldean & Joe Davis and Darla & Vance Smith; brothers, Euguene, Jerry, and Paul; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, OA "Whitey" & Mattie Pearl Baldwin; brother, Earl "Hart," Vernon, and John McCuistion; sisters, Shirley Lusk, Emma Dahlman, and Ruth Dowdy; grandson, Jason David Winters; and great-grandchild, Chole Wilson. Jimmy was a man whose generosity was displayed in his boundless love for family and friends, in sharing his financial wisdom to offering his mighty fine home cooking to those lucky enough to experience a meal prepared in the McCuistion family kitchen. Over the years, it became so obvious how Jimmy's devotion and love for Mary kept growing stronger and stronger, which still provides inspiration to us all. Jimmy will always be remembered for his generosity, love of family and friends as well as love for his beloved Sooners. Jimmy, Dad, Popop: you will greatly be missed. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 26, 4-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 27 at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel with burial following same day at 3 p.m. at Vista Cemetery near Asher, OK.
