Mrs. Oleta McCuiston
Oleta Johnson McCuiston, of Forney, passed away July 5, 2012. Oleta was born March 6, 1931 in Houston, TX to William and Mary (Seiberling) Johnson. She moved to Dallas at the age of 3 with her family and Oleta graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1948. She met her husband, Jim, in the spring of 1950 on a blind date and they married in October the same year. After traveling all over the world with Jim during his Naval career, they moved to Forney in 1983. Oleta was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Forney where she was very active in many ministries. She loved to create ceramics and crochet. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and servant of the Lord, she also loved her family, friends and church family very much. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons: James Leslie McCuiston and Michael Edward McCuiston.
Oleta leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 61 years, Jim McCuiston of Forney; daughter, Lisa Cowgill and husband, Keith, of Forney; five granddaughters: Emily McCuiston, Tracy Johnson, April Wright, Hayley McCuiston-Zirkle, and Mallory Sibley; one great grandchild, Lillian Michael Johnson and her sister adn brother-in-law, Shirley and Robert DeLong as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Monday, July 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Forney with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm, Sunday, July 8, at the church.
