- Stanley Edward McQuiston
Melbourne - Stanley Edward McQuiston, age 79, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, after a brief illness. He was born May 27, 1941 in Lenoir, North Carolina to the late James Edward McQuiston and Julia Hazel Query McQuiston. He moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1947.
He graduated from Melbourne High in 1959 and attended the University of Florida for 2 years before serving 4 years in the Air Force. He then began his 33-year career at Harris Corporation (formerly Radiation) and retired as an Engineer Technician in 2002. Throughout his career, he contributed to the NASA and military space programs on many different projects.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Arleen; daughter, Tracy Elkins (Austin); grandson, Logan; brother, Dean Russell McQuiston (Brenda); sister, Charlotte Gayle Sluder (Bill); aunt, Sadie Gaye Hedgecock (Hub); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Connie McTaggart (Ronald).
Due to COVID-19, his wishes were that a memorial service be held at a future date.
