  	Drusilla McQuiston Obituary Aloving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Dru, passed peacefully Saturday, August 12, 2023 with family by her bedside. She was born August 29, 1935 to Dennis and Bertha Mendoza in Bayou Chene, LA, raised in Plaquemine, and upon marriage to the love of her life, James Allen McQuiston, moved and resided in Baton Rouge. Together they proudly raised two sons, Ron (Lenel), of Greenwell Springs and Ritchie, of Baton Rouge. Additionally, they were blessed with three grandchildren, Lauren McQuiston Martinez (Christopher), Ryan, and Brennan and two great grandchildren, Shelby and Davis Martinez. Also, very precious in Dru's life was the relationship she shared with her dear brother, Jerome and his wife, Laura Mendoza. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, with a blessed fifty-nine years, and her parents. Visitation will be held from 9:00am - 10:00am on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 with a funeral service to begin at 10:00am at Greenoaks Funeral Home. 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815.

Allen McQuiston, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Plaquemine, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the age of 81. He worked many years and retired from Dolese Concrete Company. James enjoyed LSU baseball, hunting, fishing and gardening; but more importantly was a family man who "hung in there" for the birth of his first great-grandchild. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed dearly by all who knew him. James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Drusilla "Dru" Mendoza McQuiston; his two sons, Ronnie McQuiston and wife Lenel, and Ritchie Mc- Quiston; three sisters, Hythen Hodges and husband Kenneth, Effie Mae Mixon, and Laura Roshto; one brother, Frank McQuiston and wife Eula Mae; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Mc- Quiston; brother-in-law Jerome Mendoza and wife Laura; three grandchildren, Lauren Martinez and husband Christopher, Ryan McQuiston, and Brennan McQuiston; and one great-grandchild, Shelby Martinez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Lottie McQuiston; and brother, Roy McQuiston. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday April 30, 2012 from 9 a.m. until service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
