- James McQuiston
James "J.A." Allen McQuiston, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Plaquemine, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the age of 81. He worked many years and retired from Dolese Concrete Company. James enjoyed LSU baseball, hunting, fishing and gardening; but more importantly was a family man who "hung in there" for the birth of his first great-grandchild. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Drusilla "Dru" Mendoza McQuiston; his two sons, Ronnie McQuiston and wife Lenel, and Ritchie Mc- Quiston; three sisters, Hythen Hodges and husband Kenneth, Effie Mae Mixon, and Laura Roshto; one brother, Frank McQuiston and wife Eula Mae; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Mc- Quiston; brother-in-law Jerome Mendoza and wife Laura; three grandchildren, Lauren Martinez and husband Christopher, Ryan McQuiston, and Brennan McQuiston; and one great-grandchild, Shelby Martinez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Lottie McQuiston; and brother, Roy McQuiston.
Visitation will be held at Green oaks Funeral Home on Monday April 30, 2012 from 9 a.m. until service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
