Wife of the belated Kent Townsend Wakefield, Jr. Cherished mother of Terry and Dona (nee Panaro) Wakefield, Jeff and Karen (nee Wakefield) Wertz, Mark Wakefield and Denise Boucher, Joe Wakefield, Hugh and Janet (nee Frye) Wakefield and adopted daughters Katie Broderick and Jean (nee Broderick) Dineen and her husband Bill. Beloved grandmother of Taylor (Lauren) Wakefield, John Wakefield, Diana Wakefield, William Wakefield, Michael Wertz, John Wertz, Paul (Robin) Wakefield, Matthew Wakefield, Shilo (T.J.) (nee Wakefield) Carr, Elizabeth (Jeramie Vanden Heuvel) Wakefield, Theresa Wakefield, Kathleen Wakefield, Megan Lawler, John (Tina) Lawler, Joe Lawler and Molly Dineen. Also survived by five great-grandchildren. Kay was born in Kenosha, WI to the late Hubert and Helen (nee Riley) McQuestion on September 27, 1927. She has joined in God's arms her departed siblings Joe, Raymond, Marjorie, Leo, Jim, Hugh and Claire. She is survived by her sister and dearest friend Sheila (nee McQuestion) Cavanaugh and sisters-in-law Gretchen and Patricia McQuestion. Since learning death was near, Kay has received hundreds of visitors and cards, letters and expressions of best wishes too numerous to count. Kay's family expresses sincere gratitude to all of those who touched her so tenderly in her final months. All who knew Kay were influenced by her lust for living, her constant laughter and her unshakable faith in God. Kay was an active member of St. Bernard Parish and attended mass on a daily basis. She reveled in God's word through daily Bible readings and study. She loved to play golf and bridge, but was most devoted to providing a loving example for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
