    • Obituary for Mrs. Lynda C. McCuistion Hudson
      Lynda C. McCuistion Hudson, 78 of Rusk passed away February 18, 2024 in Tyler. She was born April 22, 1945 in Alto to Herman Lee McCuistion and Ethel Edna Cole McCuistion. She attended Alto public schools before going to cosmetology school. She worked as a cosmetologist for different salons in the area as well as for the Rusk State Hospital, where she retired. She married Lloyd Elton Hudson August 13, 1966 in Lufkin, TX. He preceded her in death December 25, 2021. She loved to paint and enjoyed having her paintings around her at her house, playing the piano, and working in her flower beds when she was able to.
      Mrs. Hudson is survived by her son: Gary Hudson of Rusk; daughter: Taresa Smith and husband Troy of Rockdale, TX; granddaughter: Nicole Smith of Rockdale, TX; brother: Frank McCuistion and his wife Barbara of Kountz, TX; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
      Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, 221 West 5th Street, Rusk, TX 75785. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk, TX.
