MOHAVE VALLEY, Ariz. —
MOHAVE VALLEY, Ariz. — Gwendolyn McQuiston Myers, of Mohave Valley, Ariz., 88, passed away Saturday March 20, 2010.
Born in Atlantic on Feb. 19, 1922, she was a daughter of Hiram W. Carrier and Ella Gordon Carrier.
She is survived by her husband, Carl H. Myers of Mohave Valley, Ariz., formerly of Linesville; four children, Marian Hewitt and her husband, Thomas, of Laughlin, Nev., Donald McQuiston and his wife, B.J., of Meadville, Judith Knepple of Laughlin, and Dale McQuiston and his wife, LouAnn, of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, Timothy McQuiston, Diane Litwiler, Phillip Grams, Rhonda Gilger, Scott Grams, Clay Smith, Yvonne Balderson, Fredric Thomas Hewitt Jr., Patricia Catherine Santana, Deanne Wallaert, Andrea Fife, Daniel McQuiston, Stacey Parsons, Alyssa McQuiston, Jessica Sabo, and Molly McQuiston; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; five stepchildren, Carl (Bunny) Myers of Byron, Ga., Robert (Bobby) Myers of Linesville, Lola Davis of Meadville, Rosemary Gasperatz of Sandy Lake and Gayle Fuller of Tucker, Ga.; two brothers, Gordon M. Carrier and his wife, Helen, of New Orleans, La., and Walter Carlyle Carrier and his wife, Dora Mae, of Lancaster, Calif.; two sisters, Ida Jeanne Lowe and her husband, Charles, of Brooksville, Fla., and Audrey C. Brown of Cambridge Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Gwen was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry L. McQuiston; her parents; a sister, Norma Klinginsmith; two grandsons, Bret W. Smith and Mark E. McQuiston; and a stepson, Richard (Dickie) Myers.
Gwen and her first husband, Harry McQuiston, owned and operated McQuistons Ashland in Harmonsburg for many years. She also worked until retirement for Talon Inc. as an inspector. She also loved to cook, read and play cards and after retirement in Arizona she loved to play at the casinos.
Memorial services will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Arrangements were in care of Desert Lawn Funeral Home.
