Marie L. McCuistion, 79, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Columbia HealthCare Center.

Memorial services will be at noon Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Marie was born on Oct. 30, 1929, in Boone County to John and Louise Marquette, and they preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Hickman High School and attended Stephens College. She later graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree in education from the University of Missouri. Marie taught for Columbia Public Schools at Ridgeway and Field elementary schools from 1968 until her retirement. She will always be remembered as someone who loved to help people.
Survivors include her son, Michael McCuistion and wife Sherry of Columbia, along with many other loving family members.
