      Dorothy Ann McCuistion Long, 77, peacefully departed this life Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Standifer Place in Chattanooga following a brief illness.

      Born in Rhea Springs, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Anna Rhea Dedrick McCuistion. Dorothy was a graduate of Spring City High School. She and her husband, John, lived in the Hixson community for the last 30 years. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Dorothy was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #209 in Spring City and a member of VFW Auxiliary of Torrington, Wyoming. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hixson.

      Survivors include her husband of 61 years, John Paul Long Sr. of Hixson, sons John Paul Long Jr. of Knoxville and Franklin Mark (Colleen) Long of York, South Carolina, brother Miles (Barbara) McCuistion of Hixson, grandchildren Jeremy Long and Melissa (Jeff) Long McDaniel, great grandchild Mason "Turk" McDaniel, special family Sharon Dailey and Carol Dowd and housecats Fence Walker and Tom Coon.

      Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday two hours before the service at the funeral home.

      Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
