- Donald Ray "Don" McCuistion born March 11, 1938 passed away on June 6, 2008.
Survivors include Dorothy his loving wife – best friend, and four lovely daughters and spouses; Cheri and Daryl Roe CA, Kellie and Bob Stewart IN, Kellye and Matthew Guess, San Antonio, Alyson and George Schneller, Dallas; two sisters, Billie Smallwood and Mary McCuistion; and five grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Marie McCuistion and parents Luther and Gertie McCuistion of Burkburnett, Texas.
A 1956 Burkburnett HS grad, Don enlisted in the US Navy and served on five Navy ships that deployed to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Western Pacific, and Vietnam. Don served 20 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer W3. He earned BS and MBA Degrees and had a second career with GAO Government Accountability Office, and completed 37 years of total Federal service.
He will be remembered for the love and joy he gave to his family and for the faith that guided all his actions. Don was an active member of Northside Church of Christ. The family would like to give special thanks to AQTS for their skilled care and support during the last few years and the compassionate Hospice Care Teams from Vitas.
