- Dollie Buchanan, 76
Dollie Buchanan, 76, of Fombell, went home to her Lord and Savoir following an extended illness, surrounded by her family.
Born in Ellwood City on September 13, 1946, Dollie was the daughter of the late Harold and Lenora Newton McQuiston. Always a caregiver, she worked at Passavant Retirement Center in Zelienople as an LPN. A member of Lillyville Church of God, Dollie absolutely loved life and she had the ability to find joy in the everyday. She enjoyed many things- traveling, flea markets, yard sales, cooking and reading. Among all things, she loved her family.
Dolly is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Buchanan of Beaver Falls, two grandchildren, Kayla Bokor and Joseph Bokor, a great-granddaughter, Auna, a daughter-in-law, Tina Buchanan and two brothers, William McQuiston of Fombell and Robert (Cheryl) McQuiston of Wampum.
In addition to her parents, Dollie was preceded in death by her son, Brant Buchanan, her companion, James McDonald and three brothers in infancy.
Friends will be received on Saturday, October 1st from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dollie's name to the Ellwood City Area Public Library, 415 Lawrence Ave., Ellwood City, PA 16117. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Valley Beaver, especially Jen, Wendy, Amy, Cindy and Nancy and also the critical care unit for their compassion.
