Cora McCuiston Hutchings
GREENSBORO — Mrs. Cora McCuiston Hutchings, 84, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday July 21, 2010.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Stokesdale Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Craig Peake officiating.
A Guilford County native, Mrs. Hutchings was born on May 22, 1926 the daughter of the late James and Hazel Kirk McCuiston. She was retired from Cone Mills with 40 years service.
Surviving are her daughter Hattie Hutchings of Greensboro, five sisters Margaret Gauldin, Betty Jean Roberts, Mary Jane Mickle, Joann Pearson, and Shirley Booth, a brother Claude McCuiston, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alford Hutchings, a son Donald Ray Hutchings, daughter Patricia Faye Greer, and four brothers John, Max, Pat, and Bill McCuiston.
A special word of thanks is extended to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro as well as special friends William and Mildred James for the loving care and attention shown to Mrs. Hutchings.
The family will receive friends this evening, Thursday, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel, 8320 Highway 158 in Stokesdale.
In lieu of flowers, donations to offset funeral expenses may be sent to Hattie Hutchings, 1608 Walnut St., Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
