John Douglas McQuistion, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at his home on March 2, 2018. John was born February 9, 1928 in Tustin, MI to the late Earl and Ida McQuistion. He was a graduate of Michigan State. John proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He came to Indianapolis in 1954 and sold baby furniture. He later became a realtor and enjoyed playing golf throughout his lifetime. John was a kind and gentle soul who always put his family first. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and rarely missed a Pacers game on television. He was an active member of Haverford Moravian Church for over 50 years. John was preceded in death by his siblings, Marguerite Engstrom, Durwood McQuistion, June Johnson and Arnold McQuistion. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dora McQuistion and his devoted children, Carol (Frank) Brock, Mary (Bob Armentrout) McQuistion, John (Nancy) McQuistion and Tim (Lisa) McQuistion; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A celebration of John's life will be Friday, March 9 at 3:00 pm following a visitation starting a 1:00 pm at Leppert Mortuary, 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
