Mac was born in Nachadoches, TX on June 21, 1932 to Lella and BG McCuistion; his siblings W.E., Jewel, and Bryant McCuistion. He graduated from Nachogdoches High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nachogdoches, TX and Palomar College in San Marcos, CA.
He will be greatly missed by his family with whom he did everything—from motocross racing with his sons, taking his daughter to Gymkhana horse shows, gun collecting and target shooting, and weekly family dinners with Lois, Mick, Rachel, and Jake. He thoroughly enjoyed preparing for many motorcycle races with his son Curt, eventually leading Curt to National Champion title in 1981.
He grew immensely closer to Rachel and Jake after his wife Lois’ passing in January. He spent most every night with Mick and his grandkids, eating hamburgers, laughing, making jokes, watching supercross and comedy, riding in the car, picking flowers, birdwatching, and relaxing in Mick and Rachel’s house.
Mac was the of kindest of men with a huge heart. He was very conscientious of everyone’s feelings and had a quiet but witty personality. His life with Lois meant everything to him. It was the near-perfect model of a Godly and biblical marriage; she was “his life, his love”.
He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy as an airplane mechanic and crewman. He also was a partner at Auto Art Paint & Body in Escondido, CA and worked for the Escondido Fire Department.
