  	William was hauling gravel from Portersville Station under contract he held with the State Highway Department. The truck slipped out of control as it was laboring up an icy hill, the truck disappeared over the bank after sliding across the road. William was found imprisoned under the cab, he died 15 minutes after being extricated from the wreckage.
