Hi there – came across your website in my McEwing family researches; I’ve also seen the Obituary for
Flora McEwing at
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=kkb&id=I71
Flora was the second eldest of 10 children of John McEwing and Mary Morrison. John McEwing was the
younger brother of my great grandfather Joseph McEwing. I have a fair bit of information on these
families in Campbeltown – see also my posting on the Kintyre Forum McEwing and Wallace in the 1800’s
Attached fyi is Flora and Ronald’s marriage record: 26 December 1889 in Campbeltown
I’d be very interested in any more information that you have on Flora and Ronald, such as
- when they emigrated to US and on which ship (Your web site says Ronald immigrated in 1873 but
naturalised in 1891 – is the 1873 date wrong or did he return to Campbeltown to find a wife ?!)
- whether any other of her brothers or sisters emigrated – there are several that I haven’t yet found in
Scotland records after 1891
