      Miles G McCuistion Sr., 82, formerly of Spring City, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at his home.

      Born in Rock Island, Tennessee, Miles was the son of the late John F. McCuistion and Anna Rhea Dedrick McCuistion Cox.  He was a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1950 and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  Miles was an engineer and retired from TVA.  He loved to fly and was a licensed pilot for many years.  Miles also had a lifelong love of music and played the guitar.  He was a member of Rhea Springs Lodge #310 F. & A.M. and the First Baptist Church in Spring City.

      He was preceded in death by his son John Franklin McCuistion II, grandson Graham Mitchell and sister Dorothy Long.

      Miles is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Barton McCuistion of Hixson, son Miles G (Wanda) McCuistion Jr. of Soddy Daisy, daughters Becky Mitchell of Manchester, New Hampshire, Beth (Ken) Kipp of Wellfleet, Massachusetts and Mary Ann (Darren) Kipp of Plainville, Massachusetts, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating.  Interment with masonic graveside services will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
