- CREVE COEUR ~ Tamera Lynn Hicks, 38, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her home from metastasized melanoma cancer.
She was born April 3, 1975 in Peoria to Ronald L. and June A. (McQuiston) Hicks.
Surviving are her mother, June Hicks of Creve Coeur; her father, Ron Hicks of El Paso; two daughters, Angel Cabral-Murphy and Cierra Cabral-Murphy, both of Creve Coeur; one brother, Ronald (Chikako) Hicks of Maryland; and her nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and sleep family to carry the immediate family through the journey of faith and love.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lesa Hicks.
Tamera worked at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 10 years as a registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
Tamera had a passion for helping others and helping them pursue and go down their journey path of life. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and furthering her education.
Her visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Private burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tamera Hicks Benefit in care of South Side Bank in East Peoria.
