- Matthew McQuesten Obituary
Matthew Warren McQuesten, 37, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023. He was born June 16, 1986 in Lewis-McChord, Washington. Ever since childhood, Matt hoped to follow in his father's footsteps of being a first responder and saving lives. He worked hard to follow his dreams by riding alongside his second family at the Whitehall Division of Fire. He graduated from Paramedic school in December 2013 and earned his Fire Certification in the summer of 2015. Matt "Q" McQuesten, was a Federal Paramedic with the Veterans Affairs Fire Department in Chillicothe and also worked alongside his father at the St. Albans Township Fire Department. Matt and his wife, Kelli, have three sons, ages 16, 12, and 6. Jokingly called the "baby whisperer" by his family, Matt was always destined to be an amazing father. When not working, he coached his children's travel and indoor soccer teams, supporting their love for the sport, often going straight from a 24 hour shift to soccer field sidelines. He would do anything to make his kids smile. He loved taking his family on their yearly Tennessee trips and to Florida with his in-laws. Matt is survived by the love of his life Kelli, and his three sons Caleb, Parker and Grayson. He is also survived by his parents father Gregory (Edna) McQuesten; mother Melinda Mooreland; siblings Amber McQuesten, Ashley (Glenn) Farrington and Joshua McQuesten; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Warren McQuesten and grandmother Janet Garecht. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd., Grove City, Ohio 43123 where funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday. Interment with Fire Service Honors will follow at Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Lifeline of Ohio and support their work to spread awareness about organ donation to prevent another family from losing a loved one who is waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
