      Thomas Edward McGinnis
      Jan. 22, 1933 - July 21, 2020
      Thomas Edward McGinnis was born Jan. 22, 1933 and passed away in his home state of Oregon July 21, 2020, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was the proud father to nine children and "Papa" to 15 grandchildren.
      Among many of his achievements were graduating from the University of Oregon in 1958 followed by the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Ariz. But, perhaps his most important achievement was in 1974, when he met his wife of 44 years, Maggie McGinnis. Maggie and Tom were "Snow Birds." They enjoyed escaping the cold Oregon winters and traveling south to their beautiful home, tucked into the foothills of Tucson, Ariz., where Tom was a dedicated steward of his citrus orchard. He also enjoyed feeding and identifying the local hummingbirds. However, not all of his hobbies fell on deaf ears. He had a passion for collecting and winding Cuckoo clocks, much to his families playful annoyance. A true Irishmen at heart, Tom and Maggie were famous for their annual St. Patrick's Day Soiree's where you could find Tom, the life of the party, wearing a Kelly green bow tie and holding an Irish whiskey. When not in the desert, Tom could be found whale watching, clamming or tending to his adored home in Wheeler, Ore. For Tom, life and family were synonymous. We will miss his great sense of humor and endless optimism.
