- Margaret Ann Elliott (nee Wilson), aged 65, a cherished and beloved soul, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023, in the comfort of her home in St. John, MO.
Margaret was born on August 25, 1957, in Long Island, NY, as a precious daughter to the late Robert Duff Wilson and Irene Zarr Wilson.
Margaret leaves behind her adoring husband of 35 years, Denny Elliott, who was her constant companion. She is also survived by her sister, Mary (Melissa) Wilson Bedrock, and brother-in-law Nigel Bedrock; her loving in-laws Tom & Joan Elliott and Cam & Shirley Cook; and her treasured nieces and nephews Tina (Elliott) O'Connor, Sara (Elliott) Arango, Matt Elliott, and Leah Love. Margaret's memory will live on in her cherished great-nieces and nephews Bailey Decker, Khalil Joiner, Daniel O'Connor, Reyes, Edy, and Luca Arango, and Madeline & Audrey Elliott. She was a dear cousin to Ashley Painter and is now reunited in spirit with her niece Michelle Decker.
A proud alumna of Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Margaret went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Art-Archaeology in 1979 and her Master of Business Administration in 1986, both from Washington University in St. Louis. Margaret's heart was filled with love and joy when she married her soulmate, Denny Elliott, on April 9, 1988.
Margaret's gentle and caring nature shone brightly throughout her career as a gifted storyteller and dedicated nonprofit executive. She devoted more than 14 years to supporting communications at Ascension, enriching the lives of those around her. Her passions included gardening, genealogy, and cooking, which she pursued with enthusiasm and grace. A proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Margaret also wore her heart on her sleeve as an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks.
Margaret's warm smile, generous spirit, and loving heart will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant, MO 63031
A Memorial Service will immediately follow visitation, beginning at 3:00pm at Hutchens Mortuary.
