Donald H. Strider, 65, of Park Lane, North Syracuse, died Friday at his home after a long illness.
Born in Harden, Mo., he lived in the North Syracuse area for the past 31 years.
He was an engineer at General Electric Co. in Syracuse for many years.
Mr. Strider was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He was in the Naval Reserve.
He was a member of the Elephant Society at General Electric, and was also a member of GE's Quarter Century Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Vivian Becker; two daughters, Susan K. Strider of Liverpool and Sandra L. Strider of Marcellus; a son, James H. of North Syracuse; his mother, Erimine Strider of Mo.; a brother, Haynes Strider of Texas; three sisters, Gale Vanpelt of Ohio, Pam Manning of Missouri, and Cloeanne Commans of Kansas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Route 11, North Syracuse, the Rev. Leonard Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Sears-Middleton Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, North Syracuse.
