- OLLIE COFFMAN OBITUARY
May Coffman, 90, of Millville, MO, died Saturday, August 4, 2007, at her son's home in Independence, MO, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Coffman was born on March 14, 1917 in Millville, MO, to Thomas R. and Ollie (Branstetter) Snider. She married Carl "Lynn" Coffman of Millville, MO on March 20, 1940; he preceded her in death on September 11, 1990. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Lana J. Coffman of Independence, MO; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Carrie Elizabeth and Mike Onka of Bates City, MO; and two great-grandsons, Mikey and Brendon Onka; 2 step granddaughters and their husbands, Pam and Chad Willey and Jen and Chris Brown, all of Grain Valley, MO; and 3 step greatgrandchildren, Jakob and Ethan Brown and Cate Willey. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother Robert E. Snider, one sister Lillian Creswell and a daughter-in-law Ellyn Coffman. May was a graduate of the Millville High School. She had worked at Lake City Arsenal and at the Johnson's Wee Village Market in Millville before her 20 plus year career as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney's, where she retired. She was a faithful member of the Millville United Methodist Church and had served in many capacities over the years. She enjoyed quilting and was a life long Millville area resident. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Millville United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Millville United Methodist Church, Millville, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery, North of Hardin, MO.
