- Gary Gene Currier, 57, of Ozark died Friday, March 25, 2011 in Fort Smith. He was retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department. He was of the Baptist faith. He was born October 23, 1953 in Mulberry, Arkansas to Norman and Mattie Andrews Currier. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Coy Currier. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 28th at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Reverend C. G. Fisher and Reverend Jason Sizemore officiating, with burial at Hixson Cemetery in Ozark, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. He is survived by his wife, Judy Yeager Currier of Ozark; a daughter Ashlea Currier, a grandson, Cooper Currier, and a granddaughter, Chyanne Currier, all of Ozark; two sisters, Deborah Kelly and Sherrell Simpson, both of Ozark; a brother Odell Currier of Ozark; and many nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Aaron Currier, Roger Simpson, Jr., Rocky Joe Smith, Nathan Smyth, Rick Bradford, and Gary Archer; Honorary pallbearers are members of the Highway Department. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 27th at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial, in Ozark.
