They had tried bone replacement from a bone bank which was not successful. It is thought this problem could have been caused by him lifting and moving 50-gallon drums of oil for a job that he had in his early teens. Several doctors told him prior to his death that nothing could be done for him. Harold committed suicide with a gun shot to the head.
