Rita F. Augenstein
Rita Faye Augenstein, 50, of Duncannon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends, at home on Monday, July 28, 2008.
She was born Friday, September 27, 1957 in Lewisburg, to Marjorie (McCormick) Moses of Hummelstown and Delmar Kinney of Union, SC.
Rita worked at the VFW, Post 255 as a bartender and enjoyed talking with her guests; she also served as President of the VFW's Women's Auxiliary. She loved spending time at the beach. Rita was a dedicated and devoted friend, always willing to give of herself for those she loved. Most of all, she loved her family with every ounce of her being. Spending time with her seven wonderful grandchildren filled her heart with joy. Rita will be missed by everyone that had their life blessed by her touch.
Rita is survived by her loving husband, Elwood "Woody" Augenstein; three daughters, Rebbeca Jo Kinney, Jessica Augenstein of Duncannon, and Michelle Smeigh of Newport; a son, Frederick Nevius of Duncannon; seven grandchildren, Elliott Kinney, Courtney Deiner, Quetin and Regan Smeigh, Mason, Jason, and Alexis Nevius; step father, Brian Moses of Hummelstown; three sisters, Julie Eckard and Kerin Jo Lukens of Duncannon, Susan Rissinger of Loyalton; two brothers, David Kinney of Duncannon and Billy Ray Black of Etters, and 11 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2 from 1-2 p.m., with a memorial service following at the Duncannon Assembly of God Church, 500 N. High Street, Duncannon, with the Rev. Dale Rosenberger officiating. Friends and family are invited to share in food and fellowship on Friday, August 1 at 6 p.m., at the Duncannon VFW, Post 255, 77 Main Street, Duncannon, PA 17020.
