- Dale Monroe Tipton died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at the age of 68. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Wofford Cemetery in Catoosa.
He was born Sept. 28, 1946, in Hochatown, to Monroe Tipton and Edna Allen.
Dale had a craft for woodwork.
He would make benches, shelves, yard art and chairs.
Dale also enjoyed hunting deer, fishing and visiting his cabin in the mountains.
His strong Christian faith shined through his gospel singing.
In 1964, Dale met and married the love of his life, Sue.
Together, they started a beautiful family.
Dale will be dearly missed by many.
Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Sue Tipton; children, Jerry Tipton and wife Tami, and Justin and Joey Tipton; grandchildren, Jeremy Tipton and wife Lanie, Bethany Conaway and husband Alex, and Jessica, Jonathon, Jacob and Hannah Tipton; great grandchild, Cole Conaway; father, M.M. Tipton; siblings, Gerald Tipton and wife Freda, Velma Campbell and husband Keith, and Nelda Borst and husband Mark; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Tipton.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Kennedy-Kennard Funeral and Cremation in Catoosa.
