  	Margie Thompson, 70 of Newport died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from respiratory failure, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, flower gardening and her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Freda McCustion. Ms. Thompson is survived by one son; Michael Thompson of Campbell Station, one daughter; Sandra Dawn Thompson of Newport, four grandchildren; Jennifer Whitby, Crystal Thompson, Julie Hunter all of McCrory and Amber Thompson of Tuckerman and six great grandchildren. Graveside services were at Sandhill Cemetery.
