Calvin Leonard Buzbee, 72, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 4:14 am Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Wabash County Hospital in Wabash. He was born June 18, 1935 in Miami County, Indiana to Elmer and Pauline (Johnson) Buzbee. He married Rachel "Susy" Coldren in Richvalley, Indiana, on February 10, 1956.
He drove truck for Wabash Alloys 26 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Treaty more than 40 years, and was a 30 year member of the Teamster's Union. He also served in the National Guard eight years. Calvin enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel "Susy" Buzbee of Wabash; two daughters, Cathy Cruz of Wabash, and Lori (Jerry) Harris of Peru; son, Gary (Kimberly) Buzbee of Wabash; six grandchildren, Kandi (Jim) Hanson of Indianapolis, Michael (Brooke) Buzbee of Wabash, Rachel Cruz of Indianapolis, Lindsey Buzbee of Wabash, Jeremy (Ashley) Harris of Florida, and Matthew Harris of Peru; two great-grandchildren, Emily Buzbee of Wabash and Kody Harris of Peru; two sisters, Josephine (Bill) Gray of Van Buren and Carol (Zelbert) Phillips of Peru; two half-sisters, Lottie Flink of Wisconsin and Shirley (Stuart) Short of Knox; one half-brother, Skip Buzbee of Knox; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Rick A. Buzbee, who died in 1983, and his sister, Virginia Mettler.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10:00am. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is Church of Christ at Treaty Building Fund or the Missionary Fund.
