- Florence "Jo" Gray, 83, Marion, died in her home at 1:55 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016. She was born in North Grove, Indiana, to the late Elmer and Pauline (Johnson) Buzbee. She married William Gray on June 2, 1956, and shared 56 years together until he passed on February 4, 2013.
Florence worked at RCA for 19 years and Butterworth for 7-8 years. She was a member of the Eagles organization, and she attended Eastview Wesleyan Church. Florence loved sewing and motorcycles, and she followed NASCAR, especially Richard Petty and the Earnhardts. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family.
Survivors include her children, Barbara (Edwin) Atkins, Marion, Rebecca (David) Mowen, Louisville, Kentucky, William (Laurie) Gray, Gas City, Michael Gray, Elwood, and Robert (Jennifer) Gray, Marion; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Phillips; half-sisters, Shirley Short and Lottie Flink; and half-brother, Elmer Buzbee.
In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death were her daughter, Pamela D. Richardson; sister, Virginia Mettler; brother, Calvin Buzbee; half-sisters, Dolly Buzbee and Margaret Madairy; and grandson, Jeffrey Atkins.
Visitation October 12, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Services October 13, 2016, with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
