John Scott Johnson, 74, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2017 surrounded by family at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on July 19, 1942 to the late Henry and Alice Johnson. He graduated from RJR High School and Guilford College. He was the owner of Forsyth Medical Supply in Winston-Salem. He was a member of Home Moravian Church in Winston-Salem where he was a trustee, usher, and loved to cook for the men of the church breakfasts and serve at the Easter Sunrise Service. Scott never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents Lila Jackson and John Alpheus Johnson and Jack and Juliette Stratton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Janis York Johnson; sister Dedee Williams and husband Tom Williams; brother Henry Johnson; many special nieces and nephews; and dog Sophie.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Home Moravian Church.The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Moravian Church, 529 S. Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
