Sign the Guest Book John Matthew (Matt) McQuiston passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018 surrounded by his family. Matt was born on March 4, 1984 and was a graduate of Vestavia Hills High School. He attended the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He was passionate for game day Saturdays! Matt had a love for eating.... especially those wonderful meals prepared by Sara. He had an incredible gift for serving others. His beautiful smile, sparkling green eyes, and personal charm made everyone's dining experience amazing while making all his customers feel so special! Matt could spin a story like no one else, making everyone so at ease. He was like Peter Pan and never wanted to grow up and yet that was what made him so special. With the carefree and fun loving spirit Matt was gifted with, his family and friends always expected the unexpected. Matt will be forever missed in the hearts of his family and many friends. Matt has now joined his sister, Katie, in Heaven. He leaves behind his precious partner in life, Sara Levesque and their beautiful daughter Amelia. He is also survived by his parents Rick and Suzanne McQuiston, niece Dylan Lipscomb, grandmother Jean Wiggins and his uncle Jim Walker. He is predeceased by his grandparents John Wiggins, Claud and Grace McQuiston, aunt Jewel Brooks and his faithful furry 4 legged friend, Marlin. We will celebrate his life on Thursday August 30, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by his service.
