Charles Leroy McQuiston (Chuck) age 73 of Apopka, Florida died November 17, 2017, at Florida Hospital Orlando due to complications from Lung Cancer.
He was born May 16, 1944, in Madison, Tennessee to Homer Leslie McQuiston and Cassie Lorrine Key. He was the 5th child out of 13 siblings. He attended Central High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He married Brenda Joyce McQuiston on August 29, 1974 in Woodbury, Tennessee.
He formed McQuiston Painting, Inc. in 1967 as a family owned and operated company that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In doing so, he was recognized for his work with Home of the Year in 2010, and he was recognized with an award for painting 500+ homes in a single year by a small business.
He was a longtime member of Starlight Baptist Church in Winter Springs, Florida and had a heart for seeing souls saved. So much so, that he donated a KJV Bible to each new person who came to know Christ as their personal Savior. He was an Usher, a Greeter and also donated his talents (which were many), time and labor to special projects and activities when needed or asked.
His famous quote:there's is right way, a wrong way and a McQuiston way". Which basically means the "McQuiston way" was always going the extra mile in everything you do! He applied this motto to his home life as well as his professional life.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Joyce McQuiston of Apopka, Florida, his son John S. McQuiston (Tina) of Albany, Georgia, his daughter Tonya J. Shipes (Robert) of Longwood, Florida and his second daughter Michelle L. Thomas (Michael) of Apopka, Florida, his 4 grandchildren Samantha Schryver, Blake Shipes and Haleigh & Dylan Thomas, four of his thirteen siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
