      Gary Robert McQuiston, age 67 of Rose City, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home. Gary was born on May 31, 1956, to Samuel and Virginia (Schneider) McQuiston in Grand Rapids, MI. Gary has lived in Rose City for most of his life. Gary served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. Gary loved collecting coins, paper money, and rocks. He enjoyed to go shrooming, riding the trails, and was a member of 4×4 Clubs.

      Gary is survived by his siblings; Joan Switzer of Rose City, Duane McQuiston of West Branch, Ronald (Kim Dougherty) McQuiston of West Branch, Kenny McQuiston of Morgan City, LA, Stephen (Debra) McQuiston of Lupton, and Cheryl (Scott) Adams of Prescott. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

      Virginia Mae McQuiston, 81, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at her home in West Branch.
      She was born March 22, 1937, in Rose City to Lawrence and Elva (Westrick) Schneider. She lived in the West Branch and Rose City area her whole life. Virginia was a singer and yodeler and enjoyed gardening, quilting and painting.
      Virginia is survived by her children, Joan Switzer, Duane McQuiston, Gary McQuiston, Ron (Kim) McQuiston, Ken McQuiston, Stephen (Deb) McQuiston and Cheryl (Scott) Adams; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Leo Schneider; sisters, Carolyn (Dale) Thompson and Ruth Ann (Bernie) Fisher; sisters-in-law, Bev Schneider, LaRue Johnson and Marty Schneider; and brother-in-law, Robert Kartes.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel; brothers, Larry Schneider, Elmer (Norma) Schneider, Ervin Schneider and Melvin Schneider; sisters, Doris (Bob) Rau and Margaret Kartes; and daughter-in-law, Susan McQuiston.
      The funeral service will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City on Friday, June 8, 2018, at 1 p.m. with visitation starting at 11 a.m.
