Ruby Ilene Gilbert, 93, of Prairie Grove, died Sept. 20, 2015, at Katherine's Place Wedington in Fayetteville.
She was born May 19, 1922, in Hindsville, the daughter of Hobart Robert and Allie Boyd McChristian.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ and the widow of Melvin Junior Gilbert, who preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1994.
She was also preceded in death by: one son, Dean Gilbert; one daughter, Melva Leichner; one brother, George McChristian; and one sister, Orabelle Maggard.
Survivors include: one brother, Bob McChristian of Fayetteville; two sisters, Cleta Leichner of Fayetteville and Faye Robbins of Prairie Grove; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life was held on Sunday, Sept. 27. Arrangements were under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

PRAIRIE GROVE - Melva June Leichner, 68, of Prairie Grove, Ark., went home to the Lord on Jan. 16, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center at Fayetteville.
She was born July 18, 1943, at Huntsville, Ark., the daughter of Melvin Junior and Ruby Ilene McChristian Gilbert. She was a member of the New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church and a veterinarian's assistant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Gahlon Leichner on Feb. 27, 2002; her father; and one grandson, Matthew Gahlon Leichner.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Kim Leichner of Farmington, Ark., Lance and Heather Leichner and Micah Leichner, all of Hogeye, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marla and Mark Ray and Lana and Dean Newman, all of Minden, La.; her mother, Ruby Gilbert of Hogeye, Ark.; one brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Kathy Gilbert of Fayetteville, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and dearly loved friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glen Faulkner officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, at Huntsville.
Pallbearers will be Mark Leichner, Lance Leichner, Luke Leichner, Mitchell Brockman, Micah Leichner and Stephen Braggs. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mark Ray, Dean Newman, Steve Leichner, Max Allen Leichner, Monte Leichner, Terry Leichner, Mike Leichner, Wayne Robbins and Doug Robbins.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Melva's name at any Arvest Bank.
