McQuiston, Charles H.Charles Henry McQuiston, 83, of New Milford, CT passed away on February 2, 2016. He was born on 10/12/32 to Susanne (Parsons) and Charles McQuiston. He grew up in Chappaqua, NY. Most of his adult life was spent in Danbury, CT with his wife Nicole (Faure) who predeceased him 12/15/90, daughters Audrey Hill and Martine Egan, and beloved Samoyed Snowball. Henry, as he preferred to be known, was an avid gardener, hiker, and fan of spending as much time as possible outdoors. Old school DIY was his style. He repaired things in a MacGyver-like fashion, and saved everything because, "it might come in handy later". He read voraciously, was a history buff, a stamp collector, a dog lover, and an adventurer. Always up for a challenge, Henry climbed Mt. Monadnock twice, stating tongue-in-cheek, "It's a lot different climbing a mountain at 70 than it was at 25." If there was any time left he was a toastmaster and a weather tracker. After retiring from copy editing and translating he joined the post office, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. In addition to his daughters, Henry will be sadly missed by his brother Alan, sister-in-law Betsy, son-in-law Larry Egan, and grandchildren, Brett Hill, Jack, Sarah, and Camille Egan as well as other family members and friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, 2:00-5:00 pm at 7 New Bridge Rd, Brookfield, CT.
