      Penny's Obituary

      Celebration of Life for Penny Amanda McCuiston, age 64, of Indiahoma, Oklahoma will be at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, 305 Main Street, Indiahoma, Oklahoma, with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Indiahoma, with burial under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. McCuiston passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder.

      Penny Amanda (Martin) McCuiston was born September 14, 1960, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jimmy and Earline (Harlen) Martin. She attended Roosvelt Public Schools, graduating from Roosevelt High School, with the Class of 1978. She later attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education. On May 21, 1983, she and Paul Edward McCuiston were united in marriage in Roosevelt, Oklahoma. Penny taught school in Merritt and Geronimo, Oklahoma before moving to Indiahoma in 1992. She taught high school English at Indiahoma, prior to her retirement in 2015. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Indiahoma.

      She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Paul McCuiston of the home; one son, Nick McCuiston and his wife Ashton of Vernon, Texas; two daughters, Alison Brooks and her husband Cody of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Lindsey Thomas of Indiahoma, Oklahoma; one brother, David Martin of Claremore, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Earline Martin; one granddaughter, Harli McCuiston and two brothers, Danny Martin and James Martin.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice in memory of Penny Amanda (Martin) McCuiston.

      Memorial service for Reba Mae McCuiston, 78, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Cameron Baptist Church.
      Reba McCuiston passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014. 
      She loved the outdoors, gardening, and visiting with her close friends and family. Reba was born Sept. 28, 1935, in Fairview, to Jesse and Alvine Schroeder. The fifth of eight children, she grew up in Geronimo, where she graduated from high school in 1954. On Dec. 31, 1955, she married Eugene "Pete" McCuiston, had two sons: Stanley and Paul, and remained married to Eugene until he  passed away in June of 2005. Reba resided in Geronimo until 1980 and then moved to Indiahoma, where she resided until 2012. Reba then moved to the Village on Lee, where she resided until her death. Reba worked as a deputy court clerk for Comanche County for most of her life then worked for Dr. Gose until she retired. After retiring, she enjoyed spending most of her time gardening, sitting outside enjoying the outdoors, spending time with friends and enjoying her grandchildren and their many activities.
      Reba is survived by her sons: Stanley and his wife Terri, and Paul and his wife Penny; two sisters; seven grandchildren and their spouses; and two great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. 
      She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and two sisters.

      Graveside service for HARLI LAYNE McCUISTON-MURRAH, infant daughter of Lindsey McCuiston and Philip Murrah, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, three miles south of Indiahoma, with Daryl Perry officiating.
      Harli died on Monday, March 10, 2008 in Oklahoma City.
      Harli was born on February 25, 2008 in Oklahoma City, to Lindsey McCuiston and Philip Murrah.
      She is survived by her mother, of the home; her father, of Lawton; her maternal grandparents, Paul and Penny McCuiston of the home; her paternal grandmother, Barbara Love of Lawton; her paternal grandfather, Philip Murrah of Duncan; her maternal great-grandparents, Jimmie and Carolyn Martin of Roosevelt, and Reba McCuiston of Indiahoma; her paternal great-grandparents, Johnny and Greta Woods of Elgin; her aunts and uncles, Alison McCuiston of Edmond, Nick McCuiston of Indiahoma, Mistie Murrah, Jimmi Murrah and Greta Murrah, all of Elgin; and a cousin, Conner Murrah of Elgin.
      She was preceded in death by her maternal great- grandmother, Earline Martin, and her maternal great- grandfather, Pete McCuiston.
