East Fairfield - Dorothy Marie McQuiston, age 95, of East Fairfield passed away in her sleep at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
She was born January 9, 1919 in Dassel, MN, a daughter of the late John and Olga Jenson Dickey and had lived in this area since 1938.
Mrs. McQuiston had worked in numerous munitions factories during World War II and more recently at Balinoff's, but mostly she was a loving wife and mother. She was also an active member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Robert Allen McQuiston, whom she married February 17, 1940, died December 23, 2004.
She is survived by a son, William (Carolyn) McQuiston of North East, MD; two grandsons, Sean (Erica) McQuiston of Elkridge, MD and Kevin C. McQuiston of Annapolis, MD, a foster granddaughter, Georianna Davis and a friend, Mark of Abingdon, MD.
She was preceded in death by all five of her brothers and sisters; Ruth Borkirchert, Elmer Dickey, Orville Dickey, Delores Stanley and Betty Olson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home in Columbiana with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in the Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
Friends may call prior to the services from 10-11:00 a.m. on Thursday and from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
