      Woodbeck C. Low(e) was born 22 Feb 1818 in Brown County, Ohio. He was the son of Thomas Witbeck Lowe 1791-1837 and Elsie Ann Curtis 1782-1852.

      His family moved to Hancock County (Greenfield area), Indiana when he was a young man. The name has been spelled variously (Lowe, Low).

      On 27 September 1838 Woodbeck married Melinda Neal in Hancock County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Benjamin Neal and Delilah Barton.

      Woodbeck is said to have been a doctor.

      He died in the Shelbyville area on 17 Feb 1863 and is buried in the Sugar Creek Methodist Cemetery in Moral Township, Shelby, IN.
