Shane A. McQuiston, 15
Shane A. McQuiston, 15, of 3067 Garner Road, Edinburg, passed away as a result of a car accident the night of Jan. 4, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Born March 4, 1997, in New Castle, he was the son of Gary A. McQuiston and Dana L. DiMuccio McQuiston. Shane was in his sophomore year at Wilmington Area High School, where he played the trumpet and the euphonium in the school band. He made the Lawrence County All-Star Band from fifth grade through this year. He also made district band in the eighth grade. He was a member of the school's golf team. Shane had many interests, including hunting and woodworking. He enjoyed helping on the neighbors' farms, always ready to lend a hand. He enjoyed restoring tractors and especially liked John Deere. Shane had a love for animals, especially his cow, Tater, and his cat, Garfield. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Kortney A. McQuiston of Pittsburgh; and his maternal grandparents, James and Connie Colella DiMuccio; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert "Pete" McQuiston and Dorothy Wharry McQuiston. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Road. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday for St. Vitus Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Frank D. Almade will officiate. Burial will be in Neshannock Cemetery in New Wilmington.
