Jack W. McQuisten
September 29, 1945 – September 11, 2012
Jack W. McQuisten, 66 of Monroe, died at 7:48 pm Tuesday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo after a brief illness.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday. Rev. Lawrence Detruf will officiate. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born September 29, 1945 in Battle Creek, Michigan, he was the son of Robert and Ceceilia (Pohl) McQuisten. He married Dorothy M. Willette on September 29, 1973.
Jack was a hairstylist at Hair’s Everything and a member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 38 Detroit/Pontiac Stage Employees Union. He found pleasure in riding his Harley and Country dancing.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy, son Mickey A. Roberts of Monroe; daughter Shellie M. (Curtis) DuVall of Irmo, South Carolina; Brother Matthew W. McQuisten of Wisconsin; sister Darlene (Lawrence) Luke of Shingleton, Michigan; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Wesley J. Tallent and Steven C. Tallent.

Robert Henry "Bob" McQuisten
WETMORE: Robert Henry "Bob" McQuisten, age 83, of Wetmore died in the early morning on Monday, October 8, 2007, at Marquette General Hospital.
He was born on April 27, 1924, in Marquette to the late Albert and Pearl (Taylor) McQuisten.
Robert served his country in the Army Medical Corps during World War II in the African and Italian theaters, participating in the Naples-Foggia, and Rome-Arno campaigns. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, three Overseas Service Bars, and the Good Conduct Medal. Robert also served the Wetmore community for many years as Munising Township supervisor, tax assessor, fireman, and manager of Hanley Airport. He was instrumental in the development of the Robert McQuisten Recreational Area in Wetmore. He worked for Kimberly Clark for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1986. Robert also served in various offices in the Munising Seventh Day Adventist Church. He will be missed by his family, community, and church.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cecelia (Pohl) McQuisten of Munising; daughter, Darlene Luke of Van Meer; sons, Matt McQuisten of New Berlin, Wis., and Jack McQuisten of Monroe, Mich.; 2 grandchildren, Kelly McQuisten and Mattea McQuisten; 5 great-grandchildren, Colin, Courtney, Andrea, Anthony and Shyanne; brother Gerald of Soo Hill; sister, Mildred Fritz of Escanaba; and nephews, Greg McQuisten of Munising and Steve Fritz of Escanaba.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Floyd, and Richard McQuisten; and sister, Beverly McQuisten.
There will be a Memorial Service for Bob on Sunday, October 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Munising. Following the Memorial Service, the Alger County Veterans Council and American Legion Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the Munising Township Cemetery in Wetmore.
